A Beautiful Day of Learning, Culture and Connection

On Wednesday 28 October, a group of our students headed out to the City of Onkaparinga’s Reconciliation in the South event for a fantastic day of learning, creativity and connection!
With beautiful sunny weather, it was the perfect day to explore and learn more about Kaurna culture and history. Students discovered the original Kaurna names of local waterways and learnt how Traditional Owners cared for and maintained the environment to keep everything in balance.
The day was filled with wonderful performances from local kindergartens and schools, and some of our students even got to say hello to friends and family who were there too! One student had an extra-special moment, joining their kindy mates on stage to perform together. What a great surprise!

There was plenty of fun to be had, with students reminiscing about familiar songs, creating some fantastic arts and crafts, and collecting souvenirs from stalls run by local organisations.
It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate culture, strengthen connections and learn more about the rich history of the land we share. A big thank you to everyone who helped make the day so memorable!
