Being introduced for the first time in 2023, Outdoor Ed is an exciting programme for Porties students to:

- Connect with our local environment
- Be introduced to camping skills
- Spend time bonding as a class
- Experience an adventure type activity
It is a programme designed to occur instead of camps.
Outdoor Ed will consist of 3 days during the year, and be based on these headings:
- Team Building
- Bush Walking
- Adventure Day
Cost & Payment
There will be an additional cost from the Excursion Levy, as would be the case with a camp. The overall cost for the Outdoor Education Programme for each class is detailed below:

IMPORTANT – Wilderness Escape requires all participants to register an account with them before participating.

An invoice will be sent to each family for the total amount. The total amount needs to be paid by Tuesday, 28th of February 2023. Payment plans can be organised with our Business Manager, Vicki McCarthy (PH: 8382 2455). Payments can be made via QKR app.
Activities Outline
South Australia’s leading Outdoor Education provider The Wilderness Escape Outdoor Adventures will visit the school and engage in team-building activities:
- Survivor-style team building
- Large-scale puzzle solving and games
- Construction problems and tasks.

Each cohort will hike to a nature destination. These are scheduled to be:
R/1 (Gwatking/Tessari/Smale/Bayly) Beach Walk at Port Noarlunga (walk from school)
Year 1/2/3 (Ehlers/McMullan/Butcher/Vandenberg) Sand Dunes at Port Noarlunga (walk from school)
Year 3/4/5 (McMillan/Thompson/Parkes/Sander/Braim) Aldinga Scrub (travel by bus from school)
Year 5/6 (Clarke/Horsfall/Badu/Eldridge) Onkaparinga Gorge Hardy’s Scrub (travel by bus from school)
Each cohort will travel by bus to an exclusive location for a day full of adventure. These are:
R/1 (Gwatking/Tessari/Smale/Bayly) will visit Lollipops Play Land for the day
Year 1/2/3 (Ehlers/McMullan/Butcher/Vandenberg) will visit Bounce for the day
Year 3/4/5 (McMillan/Thompson/Parkes/Sander/Braim) will visit Douglas Gully Scrub (run by Wilderness Escape Outdoor Adventures)
- Orienteering Make your Own Course
- Rope Bridge Building
- Stretcher Making and Ladders
Year 5/6 (Clarke/Horsfall/Badu/Eldridge) will visit Kaitpo will (run by Wilderness Escape Outdoor Adventures)
- SAH High Ropes
- SAH Rock Climbing
- Catapult construction

This is an exciting new programme we would encourage all students to participate in. It will allow them to make connections with local nature, become more resilient, and experience different activities.
