In Week 3 of this term, we had the extraordinary privilege of welcoming some AFLW players from the Crows team to our school. Their visit was not only inspiring but also deeply enriching for our students and staff.
The players shared invaluable insights on resilience, drawing from their personal experiences to illustrate how they have navigated challenging times. Their stories were both motivating and relatable, offering practical strategies that anyone can apply in their own lives. We also had the opportunity to watch a video featuring other AFL and AFLW players, which provided additional perspectives and ideas.
Among the many strategies they discussed, a few stood out:
❤️ Self-Reflection: Taking time to understand oneself and learn from experiences.
💛 Reaching Out: The importance of talking to someone and seeking support when needed.
💙 Mindset: Cultivating a positive and resilient mindset to face challenges head-on.
🤍 Gratitude: Recognising and appreciating the positives in life, even during tough times.

The atmosphere around our school following this visit was absolutely wonderful. It sparked meaningful conversations and reinforced the themes we’ve been exploring in our Open Parachute sessions.
This experience has truly been a catalyst for growth and connection within our school community.
