Information Communication Technologies

ICT is a focus area for our school. Significant funding is allocated each year to ensure that students have access to new technologies, quality equipment and software as well as Internet access throughout the school.

Staff undertake regular training and development to ensure that students have exposure to a wide range of technologically rich activities.

Computing
There are 32 computers in the main computer suite (enabling 1 student per computer) with colour laser printer access. The computer suite is next to the open space library, which promotes team teaching opportunities. All classroom teaching areas have been cabled to provide network and Internet access with each classroom having their own computers or access to pods.

Resource Centre
Four computers are located in the library as a research and reference station with Internet access, all school software and browsing abilities for Public Access for Windows. Three other computers are connected to the Bookmark system for book and resource borrower access. The Bookmark network extends across the school to allow students to borrow resources in various locations. The Resource Centre has a comprehensive range of resources for staff, student and parent use. Interactive Whiteboards
Currently seven interactive whiteboards have been installed in teaching areas and are accessible to the whole school. It is hoped to add to this number in the near future to enable access in every classroom. Staff undertake regular training and development to embed this new technology into the students' curriculum. Data has indicated that students enjoy and engage in this wonderful new technology improving student learning outcomes.

Parent Workshops
To improve the links between home and school, various parent workshops are run during the year here at school. Parents and caregivers are invited to attend a session to learn about the programs and technology the students are using. This year we have run workshops on Cyber Safety and our Security Software as well as using Weblinks. Workshops are advertised on the school home page.
