Students are under compulsion to attend school from the age of 6 years. Academic progress, learning organisational skills and routines, developing friendships and feeling safe and secure at school are all impacted by regular absence or lateness.

Students are expected to arrive at school between 8:30 - 8:50am and attend every day unless they are ill, have headlice, an injury that prevents them from moving around the school, a family emergency or an extended family holiday. An exemption is required from the Principal before taking leave for an extended family holiday.

Parents are required to give the school a reason for any absence. This can be done by calling the front office on 83822455, emailing admin at,
using the SkoolBag app or writing a note in student diaries. Instructions for downloading the app can be found here.

Unexplained absences will be followed up via a note in the student diaries, a letter from the school or a phonecall. DECD deems any student who misses over 10 days a year from school as being at risk in their learning. Please speak to the School Counsellor (Mrs Victoria Corbett) if you have any concerns about your child's attendance.

Students arriving at school late or leaving early are required to follow the Early Departure and Late Arrival procedures. Student movement is electronically recorded in the front office using Incidental Absences to ensure accurate record keeping. Parents therefore need to check in at the front office for early departures and late arrivals.
